Stroll the streets of Orillia — "Mariposa" as immortalized by Canada's greatest humorist, Stephen Leacock — and stop anywhere you'd like for lunch, using Downtown Dollars. Whether it's the patio of Brewery Bay, the classic surroundings of the renowned Mariposa Market, or any number of incredible cafés and restaurants - the choice is yours! Not hungry? Downtown Dollars can be used at almost any retailer in the city. Full details will be available in your Tour Package when you arrive.

Later that day, either for a matinee or an evening performance, see a fantastic professional comedy in one of the most glorious turn of the century theatres you will ever see. Recently renovated with modern seating and comfortable climate control, you'll be entertained at the Orillia Opera House by some of the best professional actors in the country.

You can select any one of the tours from Leacock Museum or the Orillia Museum of Art & History.

The Leacock Museum's House & Grounds History Tour

Enjoy a tour of the Leacock house and grounds led by one of our experienced tour-guides. Guests will learn about Leacock, his family and Old Brewery Bay. With the purchase of your History Tour ticket, get special access to Leacock's Boathouse to see the exhibit "Boating Old Brewery Bay."

There is always something new to see at the Leacock Museum! Your ticket includes access to all of the permanent & temporary exhibits on display (excluding "Boating old Brewery Bay" which is only available to view exclusively during the House and Grounds History Tour).

The Orillia Museum of Art & History (OMAH) is a hub of culture and heritage in the heart of Orillia’s Peter Street Arts District. Located in the heart of downtown Orillia, the clocktower of the Sir Samuel Memorial Building is a beacon for our historical location, but that’s just the beginning! For over twenty years, OMAH has been inspiring creativity and celebrating history, growing as a hub for local artists and historians.

Option 1: Art Appreciation Tour

Interested in art? Then this tour option is for you. Our expert guide will take you through several current exhibitions and discuss the themes, techniques, and history related to the works on display. No knowledge of art is necessary for this tour, just come ready to experience amazing artworks and learn something new.

Option 2: Historical Building Tour

The Sir Sam Steele Memorial Building (where OMAH is housed) has a history as storied as any of its artifacts. In this tour option, you'll learn about our building’s early years as a customs house, its eventual transition to the Orillia Museum of Art & History, and everything in between. Our expert guide will share information and stories while giving you a behind the scenes look at this fascinating building, including a glimpse inside our historic clock tower.
